My Sweet Angel

I found the cutest tie for Graham today and thought I'd take him outside and take some pictures while the day was beautiful. It's been so cloudy and cold lately, it was nice to see the sun out for once.

How Graham didn't win the Gap Baby contest is beyond me, tell me what you think!

D5000 is here!!!!

Just got my Nikon d5000 yesterday and here are a few "first" shots taken with the camera. I'm going to learn all the features to improve my photo taking skills.

It's been a while...

I can't believe I haven't written anything in such a long time! I guess life gets crazier the older Graham gets. Let's fill in the gap here.

Graham has been so much fun to play with ever since he was around 11 months old. You can see his outgoing personality through and through. He can play by himself for hours and you can hear him talk and laugh with his toys. His favorite thing of all has to be the dogs - Millie and Boswell. He screams and laughs as soon as they come close to him. He's starting to chase them around... I don't think the dogs appreciate that sometimes. Poor Boswell, I think he's given up on the fact that he's not here to visit, he's here to stay. We've told Graham to be gentle with the dogs but I don't think he quite understands just that. One of the cutiest thing he's doing lately is he will get on our big couch upstairs (with our help of course) and just stomp his feet over and over again in place while screaming with joy. He can do that all day if we let him. It's so so so cute! I can't believe my Graham has turned 1 already.... He's learning something new every day.

Speaking of turning 1, his birthday party turned out pretty good. We had a few little kids over (Anna, Thomas, Sophia, Alana and Cruz) and quite a few of our good friends. I don't think Graham got what was going on but I hope he had a good time. He was the funniest kid when it was time for cake. I got him his own little "smash" in cake (mini version of the big cake) and put in front of him... he studied that cake for a short period of time and finally put his finger across the icing. I'm telling you, he's so particular about things sometimes I think he's going to be an engineer of some sort. Anyway, we finally got to open gifts and that boy could have care less about them. The other kids were having more fun, I recruited Anna to help open them with me. He loves the toys NOW... after a good long time of being scared by them. It always takes him a while to get used to them, especially the ones that make sounds of any kind. His favorite gift was the piano but unfortunately, it broke only after a few weeks. He kept bringing the toy to us and says uhhh uhhh... (like fix it now please) and we couldn't do anything! We finally had to put it away so he could move on to other toys. He also received many books which he loves to open the book and turn the pages. He likes it when you read it to him sometimes but mostly, he just likes looking at the pictures. Nothing wrong with that in my eyes, at least he's "reading" a book. :) All in all, the party went pleasantly well except I was exhausted and lost my voice by 5 that afternoon. Graham, I hope you look back at this one day and appreciate all the hard work I put into your FIRST birthday.

Let's see... here are a few updates on Graham:
  • he now weighs 23 lbs and measures in at 31 inches long.
  • he gained 2 more teeth on the top - which makes a total of 10 teeth!
  • he loves to clap his hands when you say "YAY"
  • he tries to carry EVERYTHING and when he can't pick it up, he gets frustrated.
  • he likes to wear his ring as a bracelet (which looks kind of girly but cute)
  • still loves all kinds of music!
  • not afraid of dogs - big or small.
  • loves to give hugs and kisses.
  • when he's full, he will simply open his mouth and let the food fall out... quite hilarious.
