After church and lunch we decided to go to a park before heading back to Birmingham. So Cole looked up some parks near Gloria's apartment and found 2 that looked pretty cool. He asked me which one and I went with one that looked like fun for Graham. Oh boy, it was a good discovery because it sits on a pretty large lake with nice mountains around and the playground looked brand new! Graham had another wonderful time and Gloria/Cole are going to revisit this nice park a lot!

Weekend in Atlanta to see Ge-Ya, Uncle Cole, Granpa and Gran-ma Rebecca. First stop, Zoo Atlanta! The weather was yet perfect again this day so we wanted to do something outdoors. The tickets were not cheap ($22 a person X 3 is over $60!!) So we got online to see if there's any coupon discount. Kept seeing coupon for $3 or $5 off but none of the links were good to print them... so Max and Gloria gave up and I decided to keep looking. It's a good thing that I did because not only did I find something, I found it to be FREE for all of us! How? Let me tell ya! I found a mom who posts blogs and she mentioned that the local libraries have the zoo video and you can rent them and get a free family pass..However, it's so popular, it's rarely available to check out because everyone wants to go to the zoo for free. I thought to myself, can this be real? So I called the library and sure enough, they knew exactly what I was talking about. The first one we called was checked out and she was really nice to let me know what other ones may have it. There was only one option left and so we called just hoping they would have it.... and the rest is history! They had it, held it for us and we went to the zoo for FREE!! I still can't believe it!Graham overall had a great time and Zoo Atlanta kicked Birmingham's zoo butt! They had a lot more animals and even a petting zoo! I was kind of worried about the petting zoo because Graham is scared of a lot of things lately...and I was right. He didn't want to touch anything! It took me petting a goat for him to even touch him for one second. Oh well, I guess there's always next year. He loved the elephants, baby giraffe, gorillas and tigers. By the time we got home, we were all pooped but it was a nice day to remember for sure!

I bought these blocks when Graham was just a few months old. He showed little interest in them back. A few weeks ago, he started playing with them and has been having fun with them ever since. He likes to stack them as high as he can and knock them over with his feet. He asks for help sometimes to make them stack even higher! We didn't know this but he can count to 10 in English and Spanish! So he will count them as he stacks them (in both languages). I guess I will have to teach him to count in Chinese too!!

I call him my little monkey a lot, and I think I call him that for a reason. He's learned how to reach the counter tops. The first time, he used a chair from the dinning room. The next time, his truck to reach the light switch and turned them on and off for a long time. Today, he decided to use his bicycle to see what we were cooking for dinner. I'm surprised that the bike didn't go anywhere and he stayed balanced on the seat. We've really got to start watching hi more closely so he won't get hurt! He's also discovered the flash light tonight. He was fascinated with it for a good while, oohh and aahhh..... I heard that boys like flash lights and I can totally see why now! Boys are funny.
PS Max was standing right next to him during this whole thing. You can even see his pants on the right of the pictures! So don't worry, he wouldn't have gotten hurt!

We went to see one of Max's best friend growing up because they just had a son 2 days ago. Graham loved seeing a baby and kept asking us if he could hold him. He didn't want to share his toys with another boy name Conner while we were over there though... I want to get him a brother or sister but worries that he won't share! I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

We had a good Friday together. He asked to have his diaper changed around 11:30 and looked at his crib and said night night. I asked, "do you want to go night night in your crib?" He replied, yes. So after I changed his diaper, I put him in his crib, put some blankets on him and walked out. Checked on him 5 minutes later, he was asleep! I wish he would do that every day!!! :)

It started off a good night. Graham asked for some paper and pen to draw. He's been enjoying drawing lately. So he drew me a nice picture tonight and gave it to me. As you can see in the picture, he's holding the pen with his left hand. I believe he's going to be lefty like mommy because every time you put a pen in his right hand, he switches to the left! This is something I'm ok with but the fact that he has my personality is not so good.... ;)

Anyway, it was hard to get a picture for the day so this will have to do. He was holding this magnifying glass but when I got the phone out to take a picture, he decided he didn't want to hold it anymore so I had to hold it for him.
Let's pray for a better day tomorrow!

Both Carl and Graham needed a hair cut so we took this opportunity to do just that! He's never liked getting his hair cut and this time was the same. I believe Max said it was even worse than the last time. I don't know what it is about getting his hair cut but boy... he hates it more than the doctors! Anyway, I think Ms. Chang did a good job, it's just really short and it makes him look younger.

Lunch at Mr. Chen's as a treat! Graham even got his own Mango Slush. He always wants to drink out of our delicious milk tea bubble tea that we decided it's time he got his own and boy, he loved it! This boy also loves plain rice, tofu and all Chinese vegetables. Weird combo but hey, at least it's healthy food he likes. :)

Saturday! I love the weekend minus the fact that I had to work this morning. So Daddy and Graham had a morning all to themselves and I believe they had a fun morning. When I got home, Graham was taking his nap for the day so we waited until he woke up and decided to eat a late lunch at Chuy's. After lunch, we met up with Uncle Carl to shop for his upcoming "interviews" with some law firms in Birmingham. I don't know why but Graham had a TON of energy and we had to keep up with him while Uncle Carl tried on clothes! Carl now has 2 new outfits and I think it's a good change of style for him. When we got home, we received a package from Uncle Ku! He got Graham a New Year's Eve hat from Time Square! Brandon was there celebrating the new year and decided to get him one! So I asked if he wanted the wear the hat and he replied yes! So here's a shot of him with the hat!
Afterwards, Graham decided to get some books to read. This boy loves to "read".... He messed up the bookshelf by taking all the books down a while ago and Aunt Ge-ya was nice enough to fix it and made it look nice again so we've been trying hard to keep up with it but Graham just keeps taking book after book down! But hey, at least he likes to read them! :)

Mimi keeps this box of goodies with Graham's name on it (Jackson's name is on it as well for when he gets older). This box has all sorts of things such as tiny monkey, an odd shape object, magnifying glass, homemade shaker, duster..etc. He had a lot of fun going through the box with Mimi so here's a picture of him playing with a used aluminum foil roll! Mimi is so creative to find things around the house that he could play with! Graham is a lucky boy to have some many people that love him so much! Thank God for families!! :)

Today, we accomplished something HUGE! As you can see in the picture, Graham is sitting on his Elmo potty he got from his aunt Ge-Ya. For a few weeks now, he's been telling us when he poops and pees and have been showing more interest in the toilet. Just the other day, He wanted to get on the big toilet and asked to take his pants off but not the diaper so I sat him there. He also asked for some toilet paper too. :) He had the biggest smile sitting there. Here's a shot of that.
So last night before bath time, He saw his Elmo potty and started saying poo poo... I asked him if he wanted to sit on the potty, his original answer was no but when I took the pants and diaper off, he sat immediately sat down. He sat there for a few minutes and he asked again for some tissue and a few seconds after that, I heard pppeeessh... turned around and there he was, peeing!! I was in shock for a few seconds because I didn't think he would go the first time sitting on the potty!!! We then high five-ed each other and I wish I could show you his expression right after. He looked so proud of himself and loved the fact that mommy was so happy for him! Oh man, it was such a good night and I'm still smiling about it as I'm writing this! Going out to buy some pull ups tomorrow!!!! Wish us luck, I'm going to give him 6 months to be fully potty trained (meaning no accidents or anything wearing big boy underwear!)

For the past few days, the whole state of Alabama has been really really cold and many places had inches of snow but our area only had a little snow but ton of ice! Which is not fair! If it snowed, we could at least go outside and make a snowman or make snow angels... I was so hoping to get some cute photos of Graham playing with snow but I guess we'll have to wait a little longer....

So Graham doesn't really like to wear jackets, hats or gloves when he's outside but since it's been so cold, he even likes wearing his jacket inside the house! So I snapped a few pictures of him wearing the jacket with the hoodie on!
Since I've been taking pictures of him everyday, he's starting to enjoy it and will actually pose for me! He will even take his elmo camera and take pictures of me after I'm done taking pictures of him! Maybe we have a GQ model on our hands?? :)

Woke up this morning to about an inch of snow and an inch of ice outside. AL Dot closed all roads so we couldn't go to work! Ice day! Love it! So Graham woke up this morning and wanted to watch Despicable Me on the computer and Despicable Me it was. His favorite character in the movie is a guy name Vector. Why? Because Vector says OH Yeah, OH yes a lot and Graham loves to repeat that every time! It's the cutest thing!
I guess since my 365 project started, Graham has noticed a lot more picture taking by mommy so he likes to take his Elmo camera, look at me and say, mommy camera cheese. It's really cute b/c he is starting to like having his pictures taken! Maybe one day he will become a model for GQ or something! ha!

Graham had his 2 year check up today. For some odd reason, he started not liking going to see Dr. Huie since he was about 9 months old. Cry the entire time we're there. Today of course was exactly the same and I was by myself! God knows why I didn't ask Max to come...When we checked in, the nurse had to prick his finger to check his iron level and put a small band aid on his finger afterwards but he did not like the band aid so the nurse put one on puppy thinking it will make it better. Nope, not one bit but a kiss from puppy did the trick! (shown in picture above)
Anyway, I was able to ask a few questions but had to do it over loud screaming and crying. Graham received his flu shot and Hepatitis A shot. He is now 30 lbs and 36 1/4 inches in height. Still over 50% for both. According to grandpa, you double the weight at age 2 and that will most likely be his height when he grow up. With that in mind, we're hoping he'll be over 6 feet tall!!
The second picture was taken at Whole Foods and he was pushing a "customer in training" cart around. He surprisingly was pushing that cart around really well, putting things I asked him to and saying bye to the items in the lane. He received many awww's while we were there. It made him forget the horrible visit at the doctor's office.

Today was also his first day of school of the year. It was also the time for them to make adjustments for kids to move up. Therefore, one of his best friend Hunter moved to the next class... I think he adjusted well since he Piper and Ethan are still there with him. Ms. Ashley told me today that it's that time - the 2's... so I asked if Graham has been acting up (since he was an angel to them before) and she said YES!! Not bad but getting there. He definitely has my short temper... not a good thing! We need to work on that together. :P
This image below doesn't go with my Project 365 but I took it tonight and thought it was cute. He was at the dinner table playing with the iPad. Enjoy!

365 Days Project - Beginning
So if you haven't heard of this, this is for anyone out there that wants to photographer something every day for the entire year. I wanted to do this for Graham so he can look back and see the changes day to day for the whole year of 2011. At the end, I will be putting all the images into an album for him to keep forever and ever. So here goes day 1/365. A visit to the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta with Grandpa and Mimie. It was his very first visit to see live fish in a BIG tank and you should have been there, it was oooh this and oooh that. If you asked him if he liked seeing all the different sea creatures, his answer will be YEAH. I'm glad we were able to do this on the first day of the year. It was a great experience for all of us.
Love,
Grace
